There are three different classifications of drinking and driving offenses. These are all separate charges. A driver can be charged with one, two or all three. A person charged and convicted of any one of the offenses below is guilty of a Class I misdemeanor.
First, it is unlawful to drive or be in control of a motor vehicle, while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, drug, vapor, or any combination thereof, and impaired to the slightest degree.
Second, it is unlawful to drive or be in control of a motor vehicle with a BAC (blood alcohol concentration) of .08% or more within two hours of driving.
Third, it is unlawful to drive or be in control of a motor vehicle with a BAC (blood alcohol concentration) of .15 % or more within 2 hours of driving.
Ms. Riisa Petersen joined the Law Office of Thomas Wilson in September 2007. Riisa lives for fighting for clients in the courtroom. Mr. Ronald J. Washington, Jr. joined The Law Office of Thomas Wilson in January of 2007. Before Ron joined the firm, he was a DUI prosecutor at Tucson City Court. Ron thrives on being in the courtroom and finds immense satisfaction in being an advocate for those who might be less knowledgeable about criminal law in Arizona. He was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Washington has successfully defended hundreds of DUI cases. He worked as a Tucson City Prosecutor from 2004 to 2006, prosecuting majority DUIs.
