The Curriculum
At Sonoran Science Academy our vision his vision includes successful students who are able to compete with their international peers both in the classroom and in their jobs. We are a college preparatory school, emphasizing science, math, and computer science, while providing a solid liberal arts foundation for students.
Tutoring & Individual Attention
SSA offers free tutoring to students in all subjects. Our dedicated faculty and staff ensure that all students are accorded the individual attention and motivation needed to be successful.

This is our sixth year in a row achieving the success of EXCELLING. The Arizona Department of Education first released labels six years ago and we have consistently proven to be a top Arizona school. College Planning
The vision of Sonoran Science Academy is to ensure that every graduate will successfully compete in an increasingly global high-technological society upon graduation. Via strategic planning, we aim to have a leading, academically challenging, learner-centered curriculum with college preparation in mind. College-bound courses define the foundation of SSA, and we are vested in continuously enhancing our college-level classes. We strive to be one of the most academically advanced institutions in secondary education, not only within the US, but also throughout the world.
Club Participation
SSA believes that fostering children with a well-rounded social background and rigorous academics is a necessary part of college preparation. It is this unique balance between rigorous academics and extracurricular participation that becomes each child's formula for success in life and prepares students for the rigors of University.
Athletics
At Sonoran Science Academy, we encourage all students to participate in extracurricular athletics to promote health, strength, endurance and flexibility, as well as a well-rounded social background.
A Learning Environment
SSA is not just a school but also rather a learning environment. All parents are welcomed on campus and encouraged to find a place to make their own personal contribution. Although this is by no means a requirement, SSA faculty and students enjoy the many individual contributions parents share and thus enrich our campus. Many parents, as well as faculty, assist with the academic and social booster clubs while other parents find their own unique niche to enrich the lives of our student body.
Admissions at Sonoran Science Academy
To enroll a child at SSA, fill out the enrollment application. Along with the application, submit a copy of the birth certificate, immunization records and any recent standardized tests. If it is mid-year, a copy of the previous school withdrawal form is necessary. All incoming students must be tested. Grades 2 through 5 are tested with an appointment in the computer lab.
Kindergarteners and first graders are tested one-on-one with an appointment. For middle school and high school, appointments are made to take the written mathematics exam. A book deposit of $120 is required at the time of enrollment.
