Project-Oriented Classes
At Purls Tucson we have project-oriented, multiple-session workshops as well as 1 to 2 hour technique-driven classes without projects. Check out our "Technique Classes" and "Saturday Clinics" and "Beginning Knitting & Crochet Classes" and "Knit & Crochet Dr. Aid" for our other classes.
Some classes fill up early, so be sure to sign up for those that you want to secure your spot. Classes without registered (or paid) participants may be canceled or moved to a different time slot, so please register early. If the classes do not have enough participants, the instructor has the option to cancel the class, so please call to verify the status.
Workshop participants enjoy the sense of "knitting along" with others while the projects and their skills grow and grow. We schedule workshops for multiple classroom sessions with time in between for knit-alongs to get your project up to the next stage. Workshops are restricted to people who already possess proficiency in their basic knitting skills of casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off. You will learn any other techniques required for the project during the workshop. Come join the fun, and dare to push your skills to new heights.
Current Project-Oriented Classes Schedule
Saturday Clinics - 3:00-4:00pm $10 each, or 3/$25
Clinics are technique-driven classes. We work on practice pieces, not on your knitting projects. This allows you to hone your skills before beginning the actual project. Use these clinics to beef up your skill base. In order to sign up for Saturday Clinics, participants must have their basic knitting skills, which include casting on, knitting, purling and binding off. For the Socks on Circulars clinic, participants must already possess sock knitting skills.
Sock of the Month & Other Clubs

Sock Knitters unite! Put some jazz into your feet! It's never too early to start your holiday gifts! But, Shhhhh, it's a secret... you are the first ones to see the new yarn, and the pattern of the month!

Knit & Crochet Doctor Aid - Private Lessons & Walk-In Times Available
Don't let your knitting or crocheting get you down! Schedule time with the Doctor to solve any knitting or crochet issues. Learn new techniques, solve problems, tailor patterns, re-create patterns, fix mistakes, and on and on. You must schedule an appointment in advance to secure your time.
You will be charged only for the 15-minute increments that you use. Let the Doctor come to the rescue!
Doctor time is also available in walk-in sessions. We still have time available for you to schedule knit doctor time when you feel you need more than 15 minutes of help. Below you will find a list of our walk-in times. Doctor rates are charged $5 for every 15 minutes.

Get started in the craft by learning the basic techniques you need to know before moving onto more advanced classes!
Knit-Along Groups
Are you looking for a knitting group? We offer to you the opportunity to use our well lit and spacious classroom area for knitting along with others on similar projects. We all benefit from the social aspect of knitting, and we often learn tips and tricks from each other. Every Knit-Along Group has at least one Purls Group Leader to help when questions arise. You do not need to come to every meeting, but your project will grow each time you attend.
This is a great opportunity to meet other knitters who are working on similar projects. Enrollment in Workshop classes includes a membership in the appropriate group. Please check Class Schedule for details.
